Among Company

Afternoon Bloggers,

It's been a while! I know, i am sorry for this... i'v been a lazy sod and been busy doing a whole lot of nothing, and enjoying it thoroughly!!

So i'm back in good old Spain, back to our quaint little town and our beautifully chilled life. The sun has shone... a bit, and the drink has flown.... a lot! When i landed at Malaga airport, with the sun shining bright, the early morning departure from Newcastle was easily worth it. Just to see the warm sunlight hit my face as i stepped foot out of Malaga airport, as the warm breeze touched my skin and as i saw that cool, blue ocean stretching all around this relaxed, glorious country i was glad, glad to be back to this life, glad to be back to my friends here, sad to be leaving home behind.

Where is home? I have family around the world, Austrailia, Cambodia, across England. I have friends in cities across europe. I have houses to go back to in England in different cities. I have an apartment here with 4 (5 as Mike pretty much has moved in although he may not admit to actually having done the deed) fantastic people. They say home is where the heart is, home is where you can go and feel like you belong... but i feel like i belong in all those different houses, in all those different cities in all those different countries. Why? Its the people that make you feel like you belong, it's the friends and famly around you that make you feel at home.

In the next couple of weeks we shall be losing several friends here in Cadiz, adding to the number who have already gone. Sam, Tash, Max and Kate among many others who have given so much to making Semester 1 an amazing time that will never be forgotten. Some returning to their native countries, back to the hard work of normal home uni lives, and some will go on to new cities in new countries for new adventures with new people. We will welcome new people from countries around the world, and we will have new friends to continue our Cadiz adventure with. But we will never forget those who have left! With great friends moving to new cities it just gives us new opportunites to see new sights, new cities and new great memories.

I's losing people that makes us remember the great times we have had with them. They say you never realise what you have until it is gone, this is why i try to live every day as it comes, tell people what i think and make the most of every opportunity. Plan for the future and plan for change.

Almost 2 weeks have gone since i moved back and there has been no end of fun, besides from the Cadiz nights out, the booze and banter of the Gadetan life, (including the brilliant 21st night out) there was Barcelona... How i will always remember Barca, the birthday celebrations for myself, my Dad and Justin and with the company of Justin's legendary Dad Rodney, it was a sensational long weekend! Friday night on the tiles after a midday arrival, Saturday spent recovering, eating, sightseeing and of course, the weekend highlight (and one of lifes highlights) a night spent at Camp Nou among company and watching the greatest team of the greatest players playing the greatest sport in the world.... perfect! Messi, magic. Iniesta, sensational. Xavi, brilliant. Pedro, Rapid. The football, elegant. The atmosphere, terrific. The stadium, awe-inspiring. The spectacle, Life changing. The rest of the weekend spent sampling beautiful Tapas, teasing Rodney about his numerous women (the oldest playboy in Blackpool!!), and seeing the sights of one of the worlds most beautiful cities.

But saying goodbye twice in just over a week isn't easy, especially to one of your best friends. My dad. This is why we must make the most of every moment we have with those people who mean the most to us, our closest and dearest. Taking every day as it comes and letting those who you care about know that you do.

SO whats to come in the near future? In the countdown to carnival we have the departure of close friends, the arrival of new people, the return of friends which we luck very much forward to, plenty more drinking, plenty more spanish and plenty more adventure.

So please bloggers, if i have taught you nothing but booze and batner in these last 4 months, let me now teach you this, make the most of your time with those you love, tell people the truth, exactly what you think and feel, take every opportunity that comes your way by the horns and brave the world with a child like enthusiasm and perspective, because sooner or later, we all have to say goodbye.

Happy Blogging.
